Created during a civil war between pro-Syrian alliance supporters and Lebanese authorities in Tripoli, Trab Laus tells the story of an Australian born Lebanese young woman.
Torn between her identity in Australia and her home in Lebanon, she makes the sudden decision to pack her things and move to live with her sick nana in the conservative city of ‘Tripoli’, (or ‘Trab Laus’ in Lebanese). On arrival to the impoverished area of Abu Sumra, reality hits as she realises the abrupt decision she’s made as regret sinks in.
The protagonist pursues, unable to shake the developing love and appreciation that she has for her nana and for her usually distant family.
